  • Create a simple audio player with Arduino and the DFplayer.

    the nano TX goes to the DF’s RX, and the Nano’s RX goes to the DFs TX. speakers are self explanatory. the DFs VCC can get hooked up right to the Nano’s 5V pin. my only hint, is pull the RX and TX pins out of your arduino while uploading. it won’t upload to the Nano if your TX RX pins are hooked into something else.

    2x 7-segment displays multiplexed using a potentiometer as the input for values.
    As the pot is turned the value displayed on the 7-segments is increased to display the current numerical value. This is the base system for a future volume control system that has a value of current system volume displayed, and controllable through the potentiometer or the computer.

    Basically the circuit has 8x 220Ohm resistors wired directly to digital pins 2-9, from there 2 jumpers per resistor are wired to the specified pins on the 7-segments. To achieve the multiplexing the grounds for both displays run to there own circuits containing an NPN transistor and a 1000Ohm resistor, digital pin 11 and 12 are wired to the Base leg, the ground running from the displays is wired to the collector leg, and the Emitter leg is wired to a common ground on the arduino. This circuit allows the display grounds to be pivoted so control of which displays output can be set. In addition to those, the potentiometer has a +5v running into one of the outer legs, the other outer leg is wired to a common ground, and the center leg is wired to analog pin 0 on the arduino.

    The displays I used are technically 8-segment displays including the decimal place, serial numbers on these specific displays are “MAN74A 432 D”.

    (sorry there are no labels on the resistors, I would say 220 Ohms or so would work fine for the 7-segments and 100 Ohm or so for the transistors.)
