TFT Display Working Environment And Temperature Control

TFT display is an abbreviation of "Thin Film Transistor", which refers to a thin film liquid crystal display, but actually refers to a thin film transistor (matrix)-it can "actively" control each independent pixel on the screen This is also the origin of the so-called active matrix TFT.

TFT is an active-matrix liquid crystal display. It is technically driven by an “active matrix” method. The method is to use transistor electrodes made of thin-film technology and “actively pull” to control the opening of any display point by scanning. And off, when the light source is illuminated, it first passes through the lower polarizing plate to pass upward, and the liquid crystal molecules are used to conduct light, and the purpose of display is achieved by shading and transmitting light.

The TFT display improves the phenomenon that STN can flicker (water ripple) and blur, which effectively improves the ability to play dynamic pictures. Compared with STN, TFT has excellent color saturation, reduction ability and higher contrast, but the disadvantage is that it consumes more power and costs more.

In addition to the length of life of the TFT display, it is also related to the working environment of the display. The working environment of the display is generally: working temperature: 0 ~ 50°C; storage temperature: -20 ~ 60°C.

TFT displays are very picky about ambient temperature. Theoretically it works best at around 25 degrees Celsius. But in fact, the ambient temperature of outdoor display in the application is quite complicated. The highest temperature in summer may be above 60 degrees Celsius, and the lowest temperature in winter may be below -20 degrees Celsius.

If the display is kept at low temperature for a long time, and then placed at room temperature, it is certain that the circuit board and the display will condense. In this case, it is generally no problem to leave it at room temperature for about 30 minutes. If the display is left at low temperature for a short time and then used at room temperature, there will not be much problem. Even if the display freezes, it will disappear after being left for a while.
