  • In this video we get started with the nRF24L01 radio module for Arduino. This little 2.4 GHz radio has a range of over 300 feet and a very low current usage. Keep in mind that although the input pins are 5V tolerant, the Vin must be 3.3V.
    One downside to the board is the layout of the 8 pins. They are in 2 rows of 4 and are not breadboard compatible without a little modification. In this example we just use Dupont cables, no muss, no fuss.
    We are using the RF24 library here. The video shows how to easily install it using the library manager. In the getting started example, one arduino/RF24 pair transmits the millis count to the other. The receiving unit then replies. We will get more into the RF24 in a later video.
